Company history „Zimmermann Schreibkultur“

Hans Zimmermann started up the company in 1945 with a specialist workshop for writing and calculation machines at “Klingengasse”. After moving to the “Heugasse” Hertha Zimmermann started to include a stationary store, which developed pretty good and needed more space soon. In the “Galgengasse 28” they had enough space for the workshop and the store. Also a mechanic and a seller have been recruited. In 1958 the “Galgengasse 30” has been rebuilt and that’s where the store still is located. Their daughter and her husband moved back to Rothenburg in 1977 and she joined the parental business again. Gabriele Wilken was the responsible for the stationary store and Wolfgang Wilken for the office machines including technic and office furniture.

In 1988 Hans and Hertha Zimmermann retired and Gabriele Wilken took over the business. To be able to maintain a good stationary store for the town Gabriele and Wolfgang Wilken decided to extend the store with a building extension at Galgengasse 30. On 160 square meters they were able to present all kinds of stationaries, office supplies, school articles, art supplies and gift items perfectly. A rang of office chairs was always there to have a testing of the seating. Wolfgang Wilken was planning the office equipments and doing assemblies on spot.

Gabriele Wilken retired in summer 2018 and handed over her business to her successors Judith und Patrick Menth. They extended the product range with a toy department. Now the store is offering a wide range of stationeries, congratulation and postcards, high quality writing utensils, art supplies as well as many beautiful things and gift ideas in the sectors of writing and playing.
